BECOME AN ADVOCATE and MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Have you seen a problem in your community that you want to change? Think that YOU can’t make a difference? Well, think again, you can!
Becoming an advocate means that you’ve found a problem in your community and you want to gain the tools or knowledge to help your neighbors and community address it.
Being an advocate means identifying the audience you want to reach, identifying messages that would work in reaching the audience and identifying people in your community that can help support these efforts.
Being an advocate is working at community and/or state level to increase support for prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery initiatives.
You can help make a difference!
Networks of advocates and community programs are the foundation for changing attitudes regarding substance misuse.
